Small businesses in the Upstate and across the country are embracing artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance their operations and drive success. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, over 90% of small business owners have reported increased success due to AI implementation, citing benefits such as reduced manual errors and accelerated growth.
Kenzie Biggins, CEO of Worxbee, a Greenville-based small business offering virtual executive assistant support, is advocating for AI regulations that cater to the needs of small businesses. Biggins, a member of Intuit’s Small Business Council, is set to travel to Washington, D.C., to engage with Congress on creating AI regulations that will support small businesses.
The Bipartisan Policy Center highlights that 50% of small business owners and executives view uncertainty over potential government regulations as a barrier to AI adoption. Biggins emphasizes the importance of ensuring AI accessibility for small businesses, as larger corporations have the resources to navigate regulatory changes more efficiently.
As part of National Small Business Week, Biggins and other members of Intuit’s Small Business Council will be in Washington from May 5-7 to advocate for AI regulations that prioritize small businesses. Biggins sees this as a pivotal moment for the country to respond to AI in a way that fosters growth and innovation for small businesses.
With the potential for AI to revolutionize small business operations, the call for tailored regulations that support and empower small businesses in their AI adoption journey is becoming increasingly urgent.
