The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has made a groundbreaking move by releasing the first regional Artificial Intelligence (AI) guidebook. This innovative project, led by CHTA’s Technology Task Force, aims to provide tailored insights and strategies for the Caribbean hospitality and tourism sectors as AI continues to shape and influence the industry.

Titled the “Artificial Intelligence Transformation Guide for Caribbean Tourism: Insights, Applications, and Future Prospects,” the guidebook delves into six chapters that explore AI’s potential applications in Caribbean tourism and travel. It covers best practices for implementation, ethical considerations, and envisions a future where AI integration plays a significant role in the region.

According to Chapter 1 of the guidebook, AI has the potential to revolutionize travel and tourism by offering benefits in personalization, operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. However, it also highlights the importance of navigating the challenges and ethical considerations that come with AI integration for successful application in the industry.

The guidebook emphasizes the bright future of AI in the Caribbean, stating that there are unprecedented opportunities for enhancing guest experiences, operations, and contributing to sustainable practices. By embracing AI, Caribbean hospitality can position itself for future success and remain competitive in the global tourism landscape.

CHTA, a key player in the Caribbean hospitality and tourism industry, consists of 33 national hotel associations and collaborates with over 1,000 hotel and allied members. The release of this AI guidebook marks a significant step towards embracing technology and innovation in the region’s tourism sector.
