Reading Time: < 1 minute

Gwyneth Paltrow is facing the bittersweet reality of her children growing up and leaving the nest. As her son Moses prepares to head off to Brown University and her daughter Apple turns 20, the actress is grappling with the idea of being an empty nester.

During her annual In Goop Health Summit, Paltrow candidly shared her feelings of having to redefine her identity now that her children are becoming more independent. She jokingly admitted to feeling a “nervous breakdown” as she contemplates selling her house and quitting her job to adjust to this new chapter in her life.

Despite the conflicting emotions, Paltrow is finding solace in the fact that she is not alone in this experience. She shared that many of her mom friends are going through similar feelings of letting go and transitioning into a new phase of life.

With her kids and stepchildren all grown up and out of the house, Paltrow is now focusing on inner growth and redefining what aging means to her. She is embracing the idea of being free to say yes to new opportunities and experiences, without feeling guilty about leaving her children behind.

As she navigates this new chapter, Paltrow is determined to stay true to herself and continue exploring what it means to age gracefully. With a supportive network of friends and loved ones by her side, the actress is ready to embrace the next stage of her life with open arms.
