Hagerstown High School Boys Tennis Team Honors Seniors with Victory against Harlem

The Rochelle Hub varsity tennis team had a memorable Senior Night on Wednesday as they honored their five seniors before taking on the Harlem Huskies in nonconference play. After a road win against Dixon the day before, the Hubs returned home and secured a 4-1 victory over the Huskies.

The team swept both singles matches and won two out of three doubles matches to clinch the win. Head coach Kristy Eckardt praised the seniors for their leadership and contributions to the team, highlighting their dedication and hard work over the years.

Senior Jimmy Chavez expressed his emotions about Senior Day, stating how much it meant to him to win on such a special occasion. The team’s strong performance on Senior Night showcased their improvement and readiness for upcoming tournaments.

Chavez played a crucial role in securing the team win by defeating his opponent in the No. 1 singles match. The Hubs also notched a hard-fought victory in the No. 1 doubles match, demonstrating their resilience and teamwork on the court.

Despite a loss in the No. 2 doubles match, the Hubs are looking ahead to their next matches with confidence and determination. With conference and sectionals on the horizon, the team is focused on maintaining their momentum and continuing to improve their game.
