Hairstylist, 53, assaulted outside West Hollywood nightclub

The family of Albert Vasquez is desperately seeking justice after the 53-year-old hairstylist was brutally attacked outside a West Hollywood nightclub. Nearly two weeks ago, Vasquez, who is gay, was beaten outside the busy nightclub, leaving him with a fractured skull and serious injuries.

According to Vasquez’s sister, Gloria Jimenez, her brother and his friends were moving between two bars, Gym Bar and Heart WeHo, when the attack occurred. Despite the busy nightlife scene, no witnesses have come forward to provide information about the incident.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call for medical attention on the night of the attack but did not locate Vasquez until four days later when he woke up after surgery. His injuries were severe, requiring part of his scalp to be removed to relieve brain inflammation.

Vasquez, who relocated from New York to West Hollywood during the pandemic, may need therapy to regain basic functions like walking and speaking. His family is concerned that the attack may have been a hate crime, but the motive remains unclear.

Despite security cameras in the area, no footage of the attack has been found. Vasquez’s family is urging any witnesses to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice.

As Vasquez continues to recover from his injuries, his family remains hopeful that the truth will prevail and that those responsible for the brutal attack will be held accountable.
