Hamdan bin Mohammed commends Dubai’s resilience and united response during severe weather conditions – UAE

Dubai’s resilience in the face of extreme weather events was highlighted by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, during a meeting of The Executive Council of Dubai. Despite the challenges posed by severe weather conditions in April, Sheikh Hamdan praised the efforts of government and emergency response teams, as well as the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai.

The Crown Prince also commended the solidarity and cooperation of businesses, the wider community, and volunteers in facing and overcoming the testing situation. He emphasized the strength and cohesiveness of Dubai’s society, based on unity and readiness to tackle challenges.

During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan reiterated Dubai’s commitment to becoming one of the world’s most prepared, resilient, and agile cities under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He expressed confidence in Dubai’s ability to address extreme weather events and directed government entities to develop a proactive plan for future challenges.

More than 25,000 personnel and volunteers, along with 5,000 security patrols and emergency vehicles, participated in the emergency response to the adverse weather situations. Sheikh Hamdan acknowledged the spirit of preparedness and cooperation among Dubai’s community, government, and businesses, which helped limit the impact of the extreme weather events.

The experience serves as an opportunity for Dubai to enhance its emergency responses and strengthen its standing as a global role model. The meeting at Emirates Towers was attended by key leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
