His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking initiative aimed at training one million AI prompters over the next three years. The initiative, known as ‘One Million Prompters’, is overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation and is in line with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, which aims to accelerate the adoption of AI applications.
In a statement, His Highness emphasized the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements and the need to develop new skills in response to the rapid changes in labor markets. He highlighted the significance of prompt engineering as a crucial skill in the current technological landscape, stating that it has become one of the most promising skills in demand today.
The ‘One Million Prompters’ initiative will offer training courses to upskill individuals in AI and prompt engineering, providing them with accredited certifications to validate their expertise. The program will also include competitions and networking opportunities for participants to collaborate with experts in the technology sector.
The announcement of the initiative coincided with the conclusion of the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, the world’s largest AI prompt engineering challenge. Winners across three categories – Coding, Literature, and Art – were honored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan and Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The championship, organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation, attracted participants from around the world, with finalists from 13 countries competing for the title of Best Prompt Engineer. The event showcased the talents of individuals in crafting precise and effective instructions for AI systems to achieve desired outcomes.
Moving forward, His Highness directed that the next edition of the Global Prompt Engineering Championship should be expanded to include more categories, such as software, videos, and other key fields. He expressed his vision for the competition to become an annual global platform that empowers talents and promotes cooperation among stakeholders to drive technological progress.
The event was attended by prominent figures in the technology sector, including His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, and Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
The Global Prompt Engineering Championship not only showcased the skills of participants but also included engaging workshops in collaboration with major international tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and IBM. The event served as a platform for individuals to demonstrate their expertise in prompt engineering and highlighted the importance of technological innovation in shaping the future of societies.
