Hamilton County Tourism is gearing up for its annual celebration of tourism, with a unique focus on sustainability initiatives this year. From May 20 to 24, the county will host a county-wide scavenger hunt in honor of National Travel and Tourism Week.

Participants can follow clues on Visit Hamilton County’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, with daily gift card prizes hidden at different locations throughout the county. This year, the theme of the scavenger hunt will highlight businesses and organizations that support the environment through sustainable practices.

Sarah Buckner, Hamilton County Tourism’s assistant director of community engagement, emphasized the importance of sustainability in tourism. She stated, “Working with local businesses and events on creating sustainable practices helps to support our natural resources and ensure that future generations can enjoy our destination.”

In the 2024 Tourism Works report, Hamilton County Tourism highlighted the significant impact of tourism on the county, with over 5 million visitors annually spending nearly $1 billion. President/CEO Brenda Myers emphasized the organization’s commitment to going beyond economic benefits, with the ‘Inspire Hamilton County’ program focusing on people, place, planet, and prosperity to support the community and ensure positive tourism partnerships.

Hamilton County Tourism Inc. is a nonprofit destination management organization that promotes tourism growth through strategic marketing, hospitality, and development initiatives, providing hospitality to over five million visitors each year. The annual celebration of tourism will not only showcase the county’s attractions but also highlight the importance of sustainability in preserving the environment for future generations.
