Harden and Zubac Shine as Leonard-Less Clippers Defeat Doncic and Mavs 109-97 in Playoff Opener

The Los Angeles Clippers came out strong in their playoff series opener against the Dallas Mavericks, securing a 109-97 victory. James Harden led the charge with 28 points, including six 3-pointers, and eight assists. Ivica Zubac also had a standout performance with a double-double, scoring a playoff career-high 20 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Paul George added 22 points to help the Clippers secure the win.

Despite missing Kawhi Leonard due to injury, the Clippers had five players in double figures, showcasing their depth and resilience. The Clippers outperformed the Mavericks in the 3-point game, making 18 of 36 attempts compared to Dallas’ 10 of 33.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 33 points and 13 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving contributed 31 points. However, the Mavericks struggled to get production from their supporting cast.

The Clippers dominated the first half, holding a commanding 56-30 lead at halftime. They limited the Mavericks to just two field goals in the second quarter, outscoring them 22-8. Harden was instrumental in the first half, scoring 20 points and hitting four 3-pointers.

The Mavericks made a late push in the fourth quarter, but the Clippers held on for the win. With their strong defensive effort and balanced scoring, the Clippers set the tone for the series and will look to carry this momentum into the next game.
