Nolan Harvath Joins Tennessee as Director of Women’s Basketball Sports Performance

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Nolan Harvath, a seasoned member of the West Virginia University strength and conditioning staff, has been appointed as the new director of women’s basketball sports performance at the University of Tennessee. Harvath, who has been with WVU since December 2020, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

Lady Vol head basketball coach Kim Caldwell expressed her excitement about Harvath’s appointment, stating, “He sees the vision we have and is dedicated to making sure we are the hardest working team in the country. I know he is going to show up to work focused on ensuring our program is getting better every single day.”

Prior to joining the WVU staff, Harvath served as the director of strength and conditioning at Glenville State University, where he was responsible for overseeing all strength and conditioning activities within the athletic department. He also has experience working with various sports teams, including baseball, golf, football, and basketball.

Harvath’s impressive background includes a degree in exercise science from the University of Southern Indiana and a master’s in athletic coaching education from WVU. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified physical preparation specialist.

With his extensive experience and dedication to athletic performance, Harvath is poised to make a significant impact on the Lady Vol’s basketball program. He and his fiancé, Jeri, have already made Knoxville their home, and they are excited to embark on this new chapter in their lives.
