Harvey Weinstein hospitalized upon return to New York from upstate prison – Entertainment News

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a surprising turn of events, music mogul and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault dating back to 1991. The lawsuit alleges that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted a 19-year-old college student after a date in Harlem, videotaping the assault without her knowledge and sharing it with friends in the music industry. Combs’ lawyers are pushing back against the lawsuit, citing legal grounds such as statutes of limitations that did not exist at the time of the alleged incident. This comes amidst a series of recent sexual abuse lawsuits against Combs, including allegations from his former protege and girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, and a music producer. Despite the legal battles, Combs and his attorneys vehemently deny the accusations in the lawsuits.

In a separate news story, Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, has been hospitalized for tests after his return to New York City following an appeals court ruling that nullified his 2020 rape conviction. Weinstein, who was moved to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, is facing a retrial after the New York Court of Appeals vacated his conviction due to evidentiary issues. Prosecutors intend to retry him on charges of sexual assault, including forcibly performing oral sex on a production assistant in 2006 and raping an aspiring actor in 2013. Despite the legal setbacks, Weinstein remains in custody due to a separate rape conviction in Los Angeles. The criminal investigation and legal battles surrounding Weinstein continue to escalate, with implications for the broader #MeToo movement and the entertainment industry.
