The highly anticipated sequel to the popular strategy city builder game Frostpunk is set to release on PC on July 25. Frostpunk 2, developed by 11 bit studios, will continue the post-apocalyptic dystopian storyline set in a world ravaged by a catastrophic blizzard.

Players who have preordered the Deluxe Edition of Frostpunk 2 will have the opportunity to participate in a week-long beta access period starting on April 15 and lasting until April 22. This limited beta access will give players a sneak peek into the new features and gameplay mechanics of the upcoming sequel.

In Frostpunk 2, players will take on the role of the Steward, tasked with managing the tensions between different factions within the city council. The decisions made by the player will have a significant impact on the survival and prosperity of the city, adding a new layer of complexity to the gameplay.

The game will also introduce a brand-new sandbox mode called Utopia Builder, allowing players to experiment and build their city in a more creative and unrestricted way. Additionally, Frostpunk 2 will include three post-release DLCs, making it a larger and more expansive experience than its predecessor.

Frostpunk 2 will be available for purchase on PC on July 25, with an Xbox release planned for later in 2024. Subscribers of PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will have access to the game on day one at no extra cost.
