Netflix is set to premiere the highly anticipated period drama “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” on May 1, and the excitement is building as the male cast of the series has been revealed. The show, headlined by Manisha Koirala and Sonakshi Sinha, will feature veteran actors Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah Badussha in pivotal roles.
Fardeen Khan, who is making a grand comeback to acting after a long hiatus, will be essaying the role of a royal character named Wali Mohammed. Netflix India described Khan’s character as being “caught in a whirlwind struggle of love and duty” as he tries to balance his heart’s desire with his royal responsibilities.
Shekhar Suman will be playing the character of Zulfikar, whose ambition is only hindered by his desire for Heeramandi. Adhyayan Suman will portray Zoravar, a character torn between passion and love. Lastly, Taha Shah Badussha will play the role of Tajdar, a nawab’s son seeking purpose through liberation.
“Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” is a period drama set in 1940s pre-Independence India, focusing on the power struggle between Mallikajaan and Fareedan as they both vie for control of Heeramandi. The series promises to delve into themes of love, betrayal, and the looming specter of India’s impending freedom.
