McCook High School senior Nathaniel Miller has officially signed with the Coe College men’s tennis program, marking the next step in his impressive athletic career. Miller, who finished his Bison tennis career with a No. 1 singles third-place finish at the Class B state tennis tournament, was joined by his parents and many teammates and friends for the special signing ceremony.
Coach Matt Wiemers expressed his hope that Miller will inspire future Bison tennis players with his skill and dedication. Not only has Miller excelled on the court as a top singles player, but he has also taken on the role of the team’s official “racquet stringer,” following in the footsteps of former teammate Isaac Hinze.
Despite the end of the boys tennis season, Miller is far from finished with his athletic pursuits. Alongside classmate Kaiden Porter, he is set to compete in the high jump at the B-6 district track-field meet in Ogallala. Wiemers proudly declared, “That’s our second stringer we’re sending to Coe,” highlighting the success of the McCook High athletic program.
Miller’s success on the court has been a key factor in the Bison’s achievements, including a historic Class B state championship in 2022. His dedication to the sport and strong work ethic have set a high standard for his teammates and earned him a spot in the Coe College Kohawks program.
As Miller prepares to take on the challenges of collegiate tennis, he remains focused on pushing himself to new heights. With the support of his family, teammates, and coaches, Miller is poised for continued success both on and off the court.
