Hillsborough High School Recognized as One of New Jersey’s Best by U.S. News

Hillsborough High School in New Jersey has once again proven its excellence by ranking among the top high schools in the country, according to the latest report from U.S. News & World Report. The school, with an enrollment of 2,312 students in grades 9 to 12, has secured the 61st spot in New Jersey and the 1,254th position in the United States.

With a graduation rate of 96 percent, Hillsborough High School also boasts an impressive AP participation rate of 57 percent. The school has a total minority enrollment of 49 percent, with 9 percent of students classified as economically disadvantaged.

Among other Somerset County schools, Hillsborough High School stands out as the 5th highest in the county. Ridge High School in Bernards Township leads the county rankings at 25th in New Jersey and 432nd in the U.S., followed closely by Central Jersey College Prep Charter School and Montgomery High School.

The top high schools in the country are recognized for their students’ exceptional performance in math, reading, and science assessments, as well as their success in serving under-served student populations. High school graduation rates and college readiness among graduates are also key factors in determining the rankings.
