Foosball enthusiasts in New Ulm are gearing up for a weekend of intense competition and fun as they prepare for Schell’s Foosball Experience, set to take place from April 5-7. The event aims to revitalize the sport of foosball in the area and bring back the excitement of competitive play.
Organized by Foosball Clubs USA, the event will feature eight tables and multiple tournaments over the course of three days. Professional players from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin will be in attendance, adding to the competitive spirit of the event.
Josh Sarpy, the organizer of Foosball Clubs USA, expressed his excitement for the event, stating that they hope to reintroduce foosball to both seasoned players and newcomers in New Ulm. With foosball tables set up at various locations around town, including the Rec Center, Schell’s Brewery, and the Best Western, the organizers are determined to bring foosball back to the forefront of recreational activities in the area.
The ultimate goal of the event is to bring back a foosball state tournament to Minnesota, a feat that has not been accomplished in around 15 years. Curt Van Asten, General Manager of Schell’s Brewery, commended Sarpy for his passion and dedication to the sport, noting that the event is a collaborative effort to bring something unique and exciting to the community.
With a variety of tournaments and activities planned for the weekend, including friendly draw-your-player events, Minnesota Monster tournaments, and bring-your-player competitions, foosball enthusiasts of all skill levels will have the opportunity to participate and enjoy the thrill of the game. The event has already generated buzz in the local business and tourist communities, with many looking forward to the festivities.
As Sarpy and his team work tirelessly to bring attention to and revitalize the sport of foosball, their main focus remains on providing a fun and memorable experience for all participants. With free admission to the event and opportunities to play at the B&L Bar after hours, foosball fans in New Ulm are in for an exciting weekend of competition and camaraderie.
