Hollie Collins, a beloved figure in the Floodwood, MN community, passed away on May 18, 2024 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Born in Laona, WI in 1938, Hollie was a standout athlete in high school and went on to achieve academic success, earning multiple degrees in Biology and Zoology.
After a distinguished career at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, where he was known for his expertise in fish behavior and ecology, Hollie retired to Floodwood in 1997. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 22, 2024 at the Floodwood Fair Building, where community members can come together to honor and remember the life of this remarkable man. Hollie’s legacy of passion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him for years to come.
