Ramsey Hopp’s No-Hitter Leads New Ulm Eagles to Victory

In a thrilling nonconference girls softball game on Thursday, Ramsey Hopp pitched a no-hitter to lead the New Ulm Eagles to a 6-0 win over the Mankato West Scarlets. Hopp’s impressive performance, combined with a four-run third inning, secured the victory for the Eagles.

Hopp, who has thrown a no-hitter before, described the game as a pivotal Section 2AAA matchup to kick off the season. She credited her team’s strong defense and the excellent pitch framing by catcher Natalie Bianchi for her success on the mound.

“I just tried to mix it up, keep the hitters off-balance,” Hopp said of her pitching strategy. She also emphasized the importance of locating pitches and hitting her spots, a skill she honed during the offseason.

In addition to her stellar pitching, Hopp did not allow a walk and recorded six strikeouts during the game. At the plate, Gracie Linbo and Bianchi led the Eagles’ offense with multiple hits and key RBIs.
