How to Improve the One New PC Feature in the Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update

After two years of anticipation, Fallout 4’s long-awaited next-gen update has finally arrived, bringing a mix of excitement and disappointment to fans. The update introduces new graphics mode options for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 consoles, along with some free Creation Club content. However, the update’s official ultrawide support for PC players has left many feeling underwhelmed.

The main issue with the ultrawide support is that the game fails to recognize native ultrawide resolutions unless the Windows display scaling is set to 100%. This results in stretched out HUD and UI elements, making the game look unappealing on ultrawide monitors. Fortunately, a mod called TRUBY9 ULTRAWIDE is available for Steam users to properly scale the UI for 21:9 monitors.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Store/PC Game Pass users are currently without a viable solution, as the previous mod for 32:9 “ultra ultrawide” displays is not compatible with the new patch. Despite the disappointment with the ultrawide support, the update does bring performance improvements, bug fixes, and new Creation Club content to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Overall, while the Fallout 4 next-gen update may not have met all expectations, the game remains a popular choice for fans of the series. With its action-packed RPG shooter gameplay and expansive open world, Fallout 4 continues to offer a compelling experience for players, especially those on Xbox Game Pass.
