The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is on a mission to shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements and talents of high school students in the local community. To achieve this goal, they have launched a weekly Student of the Week poll where members of the public can nominate and vote for deserving students.
High schools are encouraged to nominate students for this contest by submitting their information through an online form provided by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The nominations are reviewed by a reporter who selects a handful of finalists each week. The public then has the opportunity to vote for their favorite student, with the winner being announced on Fridays online and in print on Sundays.
Students from public, private, and home high schools in the Milwaukee area are eligible to participate in the Student of the Week contest. Parents and guardians can get involved by contacting their high school principal to inquire about the nomination process.
Winners of the Student of the Week contest will receive recognition online and in print, as well as a certificate to commemorate their achievement.
If you want to nominate a student or provide feedback about the contest, you can email studentoftheweek@jsonline.com. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is actively seeking more high schools to participate in this initiative to celebrate the exceptional young individuals in the community.
