Hubble Network Makes History with First Bluetooth Connection to Satellite

In a groundbreaking achievement, Hubble Network has become the first company to establish a Bluetooth connection directly to a satellite, marking a significant milestone in the world of technology. The Seattle-based startup launched its first two satellites in March and has successfully received signals from onboard Bluetooth chips over 600 kilometers away.

This technological breakthrough opens up a world of possibilities for Hubble Network, allowing for the potential connection of millions more devices anywhere in the world. The company’s innovative technology can be utilized in various markets, including logistics, cattle tracking, smart collars for pets, GPS watches for kids, car inventory, construction sites, and soil temperature monitoring.

Founded in 2021 by industry veterans Alex Haro, Ben Wild, and John Kim, Hubble Network aims to revolutionize the IoT industry by providing global connectivity for Bluetooth-enabled devices. The company’s software enables off-the-shelf Bluetooth chips to communicate over long ranges with low power, addressing fundamental limitations in existing IoT devices.

Hubble Network’s upcoming plans include launching a third satellite this summer and a fourth on a future mission, with the goal of creating a “beta constellation” of 36 satellites by 2026. This constellation will enable connections with a Hubble satellite for 2-3 hours per day from anywhere in the world, offering unprecedented access to space-enabled Bluetooth devices.
