Hundreds of Yogis Gather on Bangkok Airport Runway for Mass Yoga Session | Global News

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Hundreds of people gathered on the runway of Bangkok’s main airport for a unique yoga session that took place amidst the rumbling of early morning flights overhead. The event, organized by Brew Yoga, saw participants stretching and posing on their mats as the sun rose in the sky.

The runway, which is still under construction, provided a surreal backdrop for the yoga enthusiasts who were offered coconuts, iced teas, and water to stay hydrated during their workout. Despite the industrial setting and occasional flight roar, the participants seemed to be in high spirits, with many of them focusing on capturing the perfect shot for their social media accounts.

Among the crowd of 500 yoga-goers and influencers, there was a sense of camaraderie and fun as they followed the instructions of the yoga instructors. The event marked the first time yoga had been practiced on the airport’s runway, making it a special and memorable experience for all involved.

One participant, Precious, who was invited to the event because of her Instagram-famous cat Ernest, expressed her excitement at the unique opportunity. “He’s been to Switzerland, Botswana, South Africa, so obviously this seemed kind of appropriate,” she said. “Why not?!”

Despite concerns about pollution in Bangkok, the participants checked the air quality before arriving and found it to be acceptable for the outdoor workout. Overall, the event was a success, bringing together the city’s yoga community for a morning of relaxation and laughter on an unexpected location.
