Hunter Biden threatens to sue Fox News over coverage of phoney ‘trial’ and hacked photos

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Hunter Biden’s attorneys are gearing up for a legal battle against Fox News and its streaming service Fox Nation, as they anticipate an “imminent” lawsuit. The attorneys have demanded that top personalities at the network preserve documents, citing statements made by Fox personalities like Jessie Watters and Maria Bartiromo.

The letter from Hunter Biden’s attorney accuses Fox News of using his image outside of protected journalistic inquiry, specifically mentioning a fictionalized mock trial called “The Trial of Hunter Biden” on Fox Nation. The attorneys argue that the network has portrayed Hunter Biden in a negative light for financial gain.

The list of Fox personalities directed to preserve their communications includes Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Dana Perino, Miranda Devine, Laura Ingraham, and Maria Bartiromo. The letter also mentions the “BLT Team,” where strategy meetings concerning the network’s coverage of Hunter Biden allegedly took place.

This threat of a lawsuit comes after Fox News settled a defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787 million. The lawsuit accused Fox personalities, including Tucker Carlson, of spreading false conspiracies about the company’s voting machines. The settlement dealt a blow to Fox News’s reputation in journalism circles.

Hunter Biden is facing separate charges of federal tax crimes and allegations of lying about his drug use on a firearm purchase application. His attorneys are determined to hold Fox News accountable for their coverage of him and plan to pursue legal action.
