Hyundai Motor Company Unveils Hydrogen Vision and Expands Clean Logistics Business in the U.S.

Hyundai Motor Company is making waves in the clean logistics industry with its hydrogen vision, showcased at the ACT Expo show floor. The company introduced its Class 8 XCIENT Fuel Cell electric truck, emphasizing its commitment to building a hydrogen society.

Ken Ramirez, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Commercial Vehicle and Hydrogen Business at Hyundai Motor, spoke passionately about the true value of hydrogen and how the company is leveraging its affiliates’ capabilities across the hydrogen value chain. Hyundai Motor Group aims to lead the global energy transition by integrating its strengths in mobility and energy sectors.

Jim Park, Senior Vice President of Commercial Vehicle and Hydrogen Development for Hyundai Motor North America, detailed the company’s rollout of the XCIENT Fuel Cell electric trucks in key U.S. hydrogen logistics projects. Last year, Hyundai Motor deployed 30 XCIENT trucks at the Port of Oakland and Port of Richmond, marking the largest commercial deployment of heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks in North America.

The company is also working on the Clean Logistics Project at its Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia to decarbonize its production facility. By deploying XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks to its facility in Georgia, Hyundai Motor is taking a significant step towards reducing emissions from its internal logistics operations.

Hyundai Motor’s efforts in clean logistics are paving the way for a sustainable future in the industry. With a clear vision for a hydrogen society and a commitment to decarbonization, Hyundai Motor is setting a new standard for clean energy in the transportation sector.
