IBM has made a significant announcement regarding the expansion of its software portfolio globally in the AWS Marketplace, now available in 92 countries. This move will provide clients with easier procurement processes, streamlined purchasing, and new efficiencies, all while utilizing their AWS committed spend for IBM software purchases.

The software offerings include a range of artificial intelligence (AI) and data technologies, with 44 listings and 29 Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings available for purchase. Among these technologies are components of the Watsonx AI and Data platform, allowing enterprises to build, scale, and govern AI workloads effectively.

The Watsonx AI and Data platform consists of Watsonx.data, a data store built on an open data lakehouse architecture, and Watsonx.ai, a next-generation enterprise studio for AI builders. Additionally, two of IBM’s AI Assistants – watsonx Assistant and watsonx Orchestrate – are available in the AWS Marketplace, with watsonx.governance expected to be available soon.

Other software offerings from IBM include Db2 Cloud Pak for Data, automation software such as Apptio, Turbonomic, and Instana, as well as IBM Security and Sustainability software portfolios. These offerings are built on Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS, allowing clients to deploy on AWS with flexible licensing options.

Furthermore, IBM is launching 15 new IBM Consulting professional services and assets on AWS Marketplace, focusing on data and application modernization, security services, and tailored industry-specific solutions. With a team of experts trained in the latest AWS technologies, IBM Consulting aims to provide clients with tailored recommendations and support.
