Iconic musician seen browsing for mementos in Sydney

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Music icon Debbie Harry, best known as the frontwoman of the iconic band Blondie, was recently spotted souvenir shopping in Sydney. The 78-year-old rocker was seen browsing through keyrings featuring kangaroos and stuffed toy koalas, fully embracing her tourist mode.

Dressed casually in a cap, t-shirt, leggings, sketchers, and oversized sunglasses, Harry took a more relatable approach to her visit to Sydney compared to other celebrities who are often seen at fancy restaurants or beaches. Despite her rock and roll persona, she couldn’t resist the charm of a souvenir shop.

Harry is currently in Australia as part of the Pandemonium Tour with Blondie, alongside rock legends like Alice Cooper, Placebo, Deep Purple, and Wolfmother. In a recent appearance on The Today Show, she expressed her excitement about performing in Australia and shared her approach to balancing classic hits with new material during their shows.

Having recently toured Europe, Harry, who is in her seventies, humbly admitted that she feels she could be doing more at her age. However, she remains grateful for the continued success of Blondie and the meaningful connection their music has with fans around the world.

When not on tour, Harry splits her time between New York City and New Jersey, where she enjoys the company of her two dogs. Despite her legendary status in the music industry, she remains humble and appreciative of the opportunities she has had throughout her career.
