Seven aid workers from the World Central Kitchen (WCK) have tragically lost their lives in an Israeli air strike in Gaza, as confirmed by the charity’s founder. The victims hailed from various countries including Britain, Poland, Australia, Palestine, and a dual US-Canadian citizen.
Among the aid workers killed was Ms. Frankcom, an Australian relief lead in Gaza, who was described as a kind and selfless individual dedicated to helping others in need. Her family expressed their devastation at her untimely passing, highlighting her legacy of compassion and bravery.
Another victim, Damian Sobol, a Polish aid worker, was also killed in the strike. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski confirmed his death, emphasizing Mr. Sobol’s commitment to helping those in need in Gaza.
Additionally, three British nationals, John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby, who were part of WCK’s security team, lost their lives in the attack. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed shock and sadness over their deaths and called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
The aid workers, including a dual US-Canadian citizen named Jacob Flickinger, were hailed as heroes by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who called for a swift and impartial investigation into the tragic event.
