IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to make a significant mark in Vietnam with the introduction of two new luxury and lifestyle brands, Hotel Indigo and Vignette Collection. The expansion of these brands in Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An is part of IHG’s growth strategy to cater to the increasing demand for hotel stays in the country.

Hotel Indigo, known for its unique and vibrant design inspired by the local neighbourhood, will soon open its doors in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City as Hotel Indigo Saigon The City. The property promises to bring the sights, sounds, and flavors of the neighborhood to life, offering guests a truly immersive experience.

On the other hand, Vignette Collection, IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle collection brand, will make its debut in Vietnam with a hotel in Hoi An, a historic central coast city known for its UNESCO Heritage Site. The upcoming hotel in Hoi An will provide guests with a one-of-a-kind stay experience in close proximity to the cultural and historical attractions of the city.

The decision to introduce these two brands in Vietnam comes in response to the growing demand for hotel accommodations in the country. With 108 million domestic trips recorded last year and international arrivals surpassing 2019 levels, Vietnam has become a popular destination for travelers from around the world, especially from the US, South Korea, and China.

Paul Cunningham, Senior Director of Operations, South East Asia and Korea, IHG, expressed his excitement about the expansion of IHG brands in Vietnam. He highlighted the success of voco hotels in Danang and the introduction of Hotel Indigo and Vignette Collection as part of IHG’s commitment to providing diverse stay experiences for every type of traveler.

In addition to the introduction of Hotel Indigo and Vignette Collection, IHG is also expanding its portfolio in Vietnam with new properties in various destinations. The upcoming InterContinental Halong Bay Resort in Ha Long City and Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay in 2026 are set to enhance IHG’s presence in the region. Moreover, plans are underway to introduce the InterContinental brand in Thanh Xuan Valley in Vinh Phuc, marking IHG’s first valley resort project in Vietnam.

With 18 hotels already open in Vietnam across six brands, IHG is on track to double its portfolio in the country by 2028 with the opening of at least 26 more hotels. The company’s growth in Vietnam is fueled by the strong demand for travel, both domestically and internationally, as well as the increasing connectivity with new flight routes from major cities.

IHG’s commitment to Vietnam is evident through its investment in new properties and its focus on providing exceptional stay experiences for guests. With a dedicated in-market team and a strong presence in the country, IHG is poised for continued growth and success in Vietnam’s thriving hospitality industry.
