IIM Bangalore Launches Online Undergraduate Programme in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) has announced the launch of an online undergraduate programme in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship. The Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship (BBA DBE) is a three-year program that aims to train leaders for the digital business world by integrating digital technology, business management, and entrepreneurship.

The curriculum of the program focuses on digital strategies and entrepreneurial practices, offering live sessions, mentorship, and hands-on projects for practical experience. The program is set to begin with around 1000 students and will be managed by over 50 faculty members, offering approximately 60 courses.

The online nature of the program aims to provide equal opportunities for learners from all backgrounds and regions, allowing them to continue their current activities without having to relocate. The program combines digital and in-person interactions to build a community and promote professional growth in a dynamic environment.

Prof Rishikesha T Krishnan, director of IIM-B, highlighted that the program will help students gain expertise in developing and implementing strategies for businesses in the digital age. The program focuses on practical learning, enabling students to tackle real-world business challenges and develop innovative solutions.

The eligibility criteria for the program include a minimum of 60% marks in recognized board exams for general category and NC-OBC & EWS category candidates, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates require 55% marks. The program is currently open to Indian nationals only, and candidates will be selected based on an aptitude-based test and their Class 12 marks.

The course structure includes a one-year certificate, a two-year diploma, and a three-year degree program, each with a different number of courses, credits, and fees. The program is aimed at addressing the decline in Gross Enrollment Ratio in higher education and providing accessible education to students from anywhere.

The last date to apply for the program at IIM Bangalore is June 15, and the program is set to begin in September 2024.
