IIT Mandi introduces new 5-year Integrated MBA programme

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi has made a groundbreaking announcement today by launching a five-year Integrated MBA programme. This unique course, offered by the School of Management, combines BBA Analytics Honors and MBA DS and AI, making IIT Mandi the first IIT to introduce such a program.

The Integrated MBA programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of management, analytics, data science, mathematics, and statistics. The curriculum is carefully curated to nurture future business leaders with a strong appreciation for technology and cross-functional management capabilities.

During the initial years of the programme, students will focus on developing critical thinking and creative abilities through foundational courses in management, analytics, mathematics, statistics, communication, and personality development. As they progress, they will have the opportunity to delve into specialized courses that equip them with the skills needed to apply technology across various functional areas of management.

One of the highlights of this programme is the chance for students to earn a master’s degree in management right after completing their 10+2 education from a top-tier institute in the country. With industrial internships, training, and exposure to diverse business environments, the programme aims to groom socially aware future business leaders with a strong appreciation for technology and human values.

Moreover, students will have the opportunity to undertake two industry internships, including a six-month internship, to gain substantial exposure to the business world. Additionally, they can explore entrepreneurship as a career choice through access to the incubation center at IIT Mandi.

This innovative programme offers multiple exit options, with students receiving different degrees based on the duration of their study. The Director of IIT Mandi, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, emphasized the importance of this new programme in meeting the industry’s demand for business leaders with expertise in data science and artificial intelligence. The launch of the Integrated MBA programme marks a significant step towards preparing students for the evolving business landscape.
