Eisenhower Knights basketball players Clara Steinberg and Lainey Font have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the 2023-24 girls season. Steinberg, a sophomore, was named to the Region 3 first team after averaging over 20 points per game, along with 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.2 steals. She also showcased her sharpshooting skills by making 58 three-pointers and finishing with a total of 445 points.
On the other hand, fellow sophomore Font received second team honors for her impressive stats, including 12.5 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 2.3 assists. Font also proved to be a threat from beyond the arc, making 46 three-pointers throughout the season.
Eisenhower head coach DJ Steinberg expressed his pride in both players, highlighting Font’s work ethic and dedication to improving her game. He also commended Clara for her exceptional skills, athleticism, and leadership qualities, predicting a bright future ahead for her in basketball.
The recognition of Steinberg and Font on the all-region team is a testament to the talent and hard work within the Eisenhower girls basketball program. Their achievements not only bring honor to the team but also serve as motivation for aspiring young athletes in the region.
