Ikonic Technology Team Conquers Yorkshire Three Peaks in Support of Duchenne UK

On Saturday 6 April, amidst 50mph winds and rain, a team of 22 from Ikonic Technology Ltd braved the elements to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, raising an impressive £14,000 for Duchenne UK.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks, consisting of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, form a grueling 24-mile circular route in the Yorkshire Dales. The challenge requires participants to complete the route within 12 hours.

Led by Ikonic’s managing director, Chris Perry, and guided by outdoor events specialists at Challenge the Wild, the team completed the entire route in an impressive 11 hours and 20 minutes. Despite facing slips, falls, mud, and strong winds, the team persevered and achieved their goal.

Speaking after the walk, Chris Perry expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishment, stating, “It’s been a really tough day, but I am immensely proud of the Ikonic team and everybody who took part. It’s made even sweeter knowing that we have raised such an incredible amount for Duchenne UK.”

To date, Ikonic has raised £14,237 and continues to collect donations through their Just Giving page.

Duchenne UK, the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy charity in the UK, aims to accelerate research, bring treatments to patients, and change the landscape of drug development. With no current cure for Duchenne, the organization provides hope and support to those affected by the disease.

Ikonic’s sales director, Tony Levene, shared a personal connection to Duchenne UK, as his son Joey has been living with the condition for 17 years. The team’s dedication to supporting Duchenne UK reflects their commitment to making a difference in the fight against the disease.

Through their challenging trek and fundraising efforts, Ikonic Technology has demonstrated their unwavering support for Duchenne UK and their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
