Impact of SRH vs GT Washout on RCB, CSK, LSG, and DC in IPL 2024 Playoffs Scenario

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a thrilling turn of events, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has seen SunRisers Hyderabad become the third team to qualify for the playoffs. Led by Pat Cummins, SRH secured their spot with 15 points in 13 games after their match against Gujarat Titans was washed out due to rain in Hyderabad. This victory ensures that SRH will join Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in the top-four teams.

With three spots already sealed, the battle for the final playoff spot is heating up among Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Lucknow Super Giants. However, the real showdown is between CSK and RCB, with LSG having only a mathematical chance of advancing.

Chennai Super Kings, with 14 points in 13 matches and a positive Net Run Rate, are in a strong position to secure the fourth playoff spot. A win against RCB in their final match will guarantee their advancement, with a chance of even finishing in the top two if other results go their way.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with 12 points in 13 matches, need a convincing win against CSK to stay in contention for the playoffs. Lucknow Super Giants, with the same points but a poor Net Run Rate, face an uphill battle to qualify.

Unfortunately, Delhi Capitals, with 14 points in 14 matches, are out of the playoff race as they have no more matches left to improve their run-rate. The battle for the final playoff spot is set to intensify as the IPL 2024 season reaches its climax.
