Impressive Records and Statistics of Faf du Plessis

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Faf du Plessis had a stellar season in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) as he led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a miraculous turnaround. Despite a slow start where the team won just one of their first eight games, du Plessis inspired the team to reach the playoffs before losing in the Eliminator.

Du Plessis’ individual performance was exceptional as he scored 438 runs from 15 matches at an incredible strike rate of 161.62. He also hit four half-centuries and provided solid starts for RCB alongside his opening partner Virat Kohli. The South African batsman also took eight catches during the season.

One of the standout moments of du Plessis’ season was his whirlwind 64-run knock from 23 balls against Gujarat Titans, where he scored the second-fastest fifty for RCB in IPL history. He also set a record for the highest Powerplay score by a RCB batter in a single match.

In addition to his IPL success, du Plessis also achieved a significant milestone in T20 cricket by surpassing 10,000 runs in the format. He became only the second South African player to achieve this feat, behind David Miller.

Overall, du Plessis’ performance in IPL 2024 was filled with remarkable achievements and records, solidifying his status as one of the top performers in the tournament.
