In 2023, AI technologies were utilized by 8% of EU enterprises

In a recent study conducted in 2023, it was found that 8% of enterprises in the European Union with 10 or more employees have embraced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance their business operations. This data was revealed in the updated Statistics Explained article on the utilization of AI in enterprises.

The report highlighted that countries like Denmark, Finland, and Luxembourg led the way with the highest percentages of enterprises using AI technologies, while Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, and Hungary lagged behind with the lowest adoption rates.

When it comes to the specific types of AI technologies being implemented, the study showed that automating workflows or assisting in decision-making through AI-based software robotic process automation was the most popular choice among enterprises, with 3% utilizing this technology. Following closely behind were text mining for language analysis (2.9%) and machine learning, including deep learning (2.6%).

Other AI technologies being employed by these enterprises include speech recognition, image recognition, natural language generation, and autonomous robots. Each of these technologies plays a crucial role in streamlining processes, enhancing decision-making, and improving overall efficiency within the organizations.

The findings of this study shed light on the increasing trend of AI adoption among enterprises in the EU, showcasing the potential benefits and opportunities that these advanced technologies can bring to businesses across various industries.
