India remains unconcerned about Pandya’s form, says The Indian Panorama

India’s chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, has expressed confidence in the form and fitness of key players Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli ahead of the T20 World Cup in June. Despite Pandya’s struggles in the IPL with Mumbai Indians, Agarkar believes the all-rounder’s presence brings crucial balance to the team and is optimistic about his fitness leading up to the tournament.

On the other hand, Kohli has been in exceptional form in the IPL, scoring 500 runs so far this season. Agarkar dismissed concerns about Kohli’s strike-rate, emphasizing the importance of experience in a World Cup campaign. He stressed that performance in the IPL alone does not determine team selection.

India’s squad for the T20 World Cup includes two specialist spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, along with spin-bowling all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. Agarkar highlighted the importance of having a variety of options in the squad, especially considering the conditions in West Indies where the tournament will be held.

With India set to face Ireland, Pakistan, the United States, and Canada in Group A, the team is gearing up for a challenging campaign. Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma are confident in the squad’s abilities and are focused on preparing for the tournament without overthinking the pressure. India will kick off their campaign against Ireland in New York on June 5, aiming to reclaim the T20 World Cup title.
