Reading Time: < 1 minute

Top Indian shuttlers are gearing up for the USD 850,000 Singapore Open, which kicks off on Tuesday, as they fine-tune their preparations for the upcoming Paris Olympics. With just two months left until the Summer Games, players like P V Sindhu, H S Prannoy, and Lakshya Sen are looking to hit their peak form.

Recently, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty claimed the Thailand Open title, showing promising form ahead of the Olympics. Sindhu, who finished as the runner-up at the Malaysia Masters, is also looking sharp.

The Singapore Open will be a crucial test for these shuttlers as they face tough competition in the Super 750 tournament. Sindhu, in particular, will be looking to bounce back from her recent loss in the Malaysia Masters final and make a strong statement in Singapore.

Meanwhile, the men’s doubles pair of Satwik and Chirag will aim to maintain their world no. 1 status as they face strong opponents in the competition. Lakshya Sen, who secured his Olympic qualification with impressive performances in recent tournaments, will have a challenging match against world no. 1 Viktor Axelsen.

Prannoy, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back from health issues and put up a strong performance in Singapore. Other Indian players like Kidambi Srikanth, Priyanshu Rajawat, and Aakarshi Kashyap will also be in action, hoping to make their mark in the tournament.

With the Paris Olympics on the horizon, the Singapore Open presents a great opportunity for Indian shuttlers to test their skills and gain valuable experience before the quadrennial mega event.
