Reading Time: < 1 minute

The excitement is building as the Indian cricket team gears up for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the United States. The first batch of players, led by skipper Rohit Sharma, departed from Mumbai airport on Saturday. The star-studded squad includes Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj, among others. Head coach Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathour also joined the team for the journey.

While some players are still participating in the IPL playoffs, the rest of the squad is focused on the T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 2 to June 29. The Indian team will kick off their campaign against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Despite the absence of players like Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson, the team is determined to make a mark in the tournament. With matches scheduled against Pakistan, USA, and Canada in the group stage, the Indian team is aiming to replicate their success from the inaugural edition in 2007.

As the players set off for the T20 World Cup, fans are eagerly anticipating their performance on the international stage. Stay tuned for more updates on Team India’s journey in the tournament.
