Indigo, the largest airline in India, is making waves in the aviation industry by announcing the launch of its business class service by the end of 2024. This move marks a significant expansion for the low-cost carrier, which has been known for its economy class offerings, including XL seats with extra legroom.
With India’s economy on the rise and a growing demand for premium travel experiences, Indigo is stepping up to meet the needs of its passengers by introducing business class seats. This decision comes after nearly two decades of dominating the Indian aviation scene with its single-class economy configuration.
Currently, Air India and Vistara are the only Indian airlines offering business-class seats on domestic flights. By December 2024, Indigo will join this exclusive category with its “tailor-made business product.” The airline plans to initially launch its business class service on the busiest domestic routes, providing passengers with a more comfortable seating option.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, expressed excitement about the upcoming launch, stating, “Over the past 18 years, India’s and IndiGo’s growth stories have been closely interlinked. We believe as India gears up to become the third largest economy in the world, it’s our privilege to provide the New India even more options to choose from as they travel business.”
Passengers can expect more details about the official launch date, specific routes, and special offers from Indigo by August 2024. This move by Indigo is set to revolutionize the Indian aviation industry and provide travelers with a new level of luxury and comfort while flying.
