Inflexion, the private equity investor, has made a significant investment in Ultimate Performance, a global health and fitness platform known for its premium services. Founded in 2009 by Nick Mitchell, Ultimate Performance offers personalized training and nutrition programs inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Californian gyms.

With 24 sites and a team of over 450 employees, including 350 personal trainers, Ultimate Performance has established a strong presence in the UK, US, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. The company’s programs have received high satisfaction scores from both clients and personal trainers, making it a market leader in the industry.

One customer described the “12 week body transformations” offered by Ultimate Performance as intense and costly, estimating the program to be close to £3k for 3 months. Despite the high price tag, the company’s strategy is to expand its intensive personal training proposition globally.

Malcolm Coffin, Partner and Head of Enterprise Fund at Inflexion, expressed excitement about the investment, highlighting Ultimate Performance’s strong growth potential. The existing management team, led by Steve Brice as the new Group CEO, is set to drive the company’s expansion with the support of Inflexion.

Simon McMurtrie and Christian Jennings, both experienced in successful investments, will be joining Ultimate Performance as Chair and CFO, respectively. Steve Brice, the Chief Executive, emphasized the company’s commitment to changing clients’ lives and building a global presence with Inflexion’s partnership.

The exact stake and investment amount have not been disclosed, but the deal was advised by Houlihan Lokey for Inflexion and PricewaterhouseCoopers for Ultimate Performance. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration.
