Initiative to Increase Tourism Through Visa-Free Travel in the US

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The United States of America is gearing up to boost inbound travel with its new visa-free initiative, the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This policy change allows visitors from select countries to enter the US for business or tourism purposes without a visa and stay for up to 90 days. The aim is to streamline the entry process and reduce wait times for travelers.

The eligible countries for entry into the US under the VWP include a wide range of nations such as Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and many more. The US government hopes to promote travel to popular destinations like Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles, as well as increase footfall in smaller towns and rural areas.

With plans to add more countries to the VWP list in the future, the initiative is expected to decrease the percentage of international tourists from the ‘Rest of the World’ category from 37% to 35%. Visa-free travel from countries like Canada and Mexico already accounts for over 50% of international tourist arrivals in the US.

The US is known for its diverse attractions, ranging from wildlife parks to theme parks, museums to waterfalls, and beaches to islands. Some of the top US tourism destinations include Los Angeles, New York, Hawaii, and more. This new visa-free initiative is set to make traveling to the US easier and more accessible for visitors from around the world.
