India’s efforts to attract international travelers have been gaining momentum, with the Indian ministry of tourism and state tourism boards actively participating in international travel trade events. The country has been focusing on promoting unexplored destinations like Lakshadweep and Ladakh to appeal to a diverse range of travelers.

In a bid to facilitate foreign arrivals, India has been simplifying its visa regime and offering e-visas for over 160 countries, along with reducing visa fees. This move has made it easier for international travelers to visit the country and explore its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

To understand the preferences of international travelers visiting India, luxury boutique hotels were approached for insights. Parikshit Rathore, Lodge Manager at Aramness Gir, highlighted the growing trend among travelers towards seeking authentic and immersive experiences. Visitors are increasingly interested in connecting with local cultures and exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Udit Bagai, Associate Director Of Sales at Brij Hotels, mentioned attracting eco-conscious travelers, cultural enthusiasts, and wellness seekers. The boutique hotel chain has witnessed a growing interest in experiential and immersive travel, particularly in wildlife safaris and cultural interactions.

Shelley Thayil, Chief Operating Officer at Paul John Resorts and Hotels, shared that there has been a significant increase in demand for experiential travel among international visitors to India. Travelers are seeking authentic experiences that allow them to connect with the local culture and traditions.

Overall, India’s focus on promoting unique experiences and unexplored destinations is resonating with international travelers, who are increasingly seeking authentic and immersive travel experiences in the country.
