Sri Lanka Tourism is gearing up for a successful summer and winter season in 2024/25 with the arrival of a group of international journalists and travel influencers. The new tagline, ‘You Will Come Back for More’, is set to be promoted through this initiative, with an expected advertising value of over Rs. 35 million.
Representing key inbound markets for Sri Lanka, the delegation includes members from the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Australia, Singapore, USA, and Canada. With a combined global audience of 1.8 million through various mainstream travel publications and social media platforms, the promotion aims to showcase the beauty and attractions of Sri Lanka to a wide audience.
The tourism industry in Sri Lanka has already seen a significant uplift in the first quarter of 2024, with over 600,000 tourists visiting the country. The upcoming media promotions are expected to further boost tourism during the summer and winter seasons, making Sri Lanka a top choice for holiday destinations in Asia.
Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Chalaka Gajabahu, expressed his excitement about the promotion, especially targeting the upcoming summer season, traditionally considered a low season for tourism in Sri Lanka. He emphasized the importance of showcasing all that Sri Lanka has to offer to international travelers and highlighted the continuous efforts to grow and achieve tourism targets in 2024.
Various tourism industry stakeholders, both from the public and private sectors, have come together to support this national tourism industry promotional initiative. With their combined efforts, Sri Lanka is set to attract even more visitors and establish itself as a must-visit destination in the coming seasons.
