Reading Time: < 1 minute

David Green, a seasoned golf professional, is spearheading an exciting new project at Basingstoke Golf Club in Hampshire, set to open in late June. The club, originally established in 1907, has relocated to the former site of Dummer Golf Club, boasting a new championship course, modern clubhouse, and extensive practice facilities.

Green, who has had a diverse career in the golf industry, shared his journey from playing competitive golf to transitioning into teaching and management roles at various clubs. His latest venture at Basingstoke presents a unique opportunity to be part of a £15 million project aimed at transforming the club into one of the premier golf venues in the south.

The new Basingstoke Golf Club promises a fresh start for members, with a larger footprint, enhanced facilities, and a redesigned course layout. Green expressed his aspirations for the club to potentially rank among the Top 100 Golf Courses, highlighting the exceptional layout and amenities that set it apart.

The project is progressing steadily, with plans to open nine holes by late June and the clubhouse in August. The full course is expected to be operational by early to mid-autumn, culminating in a grand opening in September 2025. Green emphasized the unique features of the new course, including challenging defenses and signature holes that showcase the natural beauty of the surroundings.

As a passionate golfer himself, Green looks forward to finally playing the course he has been instrumental in developing. Despite the hard work ahead, he anticipates the satisfaction of seeing the project come to fruition and enjoying the fruits of their labor on the stunning new course at Basingstoke Golf Club.
