Interview with Davina Kamikazi, SheTech Intern – TechBuzz News

Davina Kamikazi, a student from Rwanda studying computer science at Weber State University, is making waves in the tech industry with her passion for technology and problem-solving. Starting her journey in Rwanda, Kamikazi’s interest in technology blossomed through programs like One Laptop per Child, where she received a laptop and used it to create coding games.

Despite facing challenges like imposter syndrome and being a woman of color in the tech field, Kamikazi persevered by seeking out mentors and inspiring leaders. She was particularly inspired by Faith Keza, a former CEO who used technology to improve government services in Rwanda.

Kamikazi’s ultimate goal is to bring her knowledge back to Rwanda and digitize agriculture to boost economic productivity and public health. She encourages young girls to never give up in the face of challenges, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and dedication.

Isabelle, a junior at DaVinci Academy of Science and the Arts in Ogden, Utah, had the opportunity to interview Kamikazi as part of her media internship. Through her interviews with women tech leaders in Utah, Isabelle aims to highlight the achievements and stories of inspiring women in the tech industry.

Kamikazi’s journey serves as a beacon of hope for young women aspiring to enter the tech field, showcasing the power of determination and resilience in achieving one’s goals.
