Introducing BIO INX: Innovative Biomaterials for Readily3D’s Volumetric 3D Printing Technology

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Bioink technology firm BIO INX has made a groundbreaking partnership with volumetric 3D printing company Readily3D to introduce new biomaterials for volumetric 3D bioprinting. The collaboration has resulted in the development of the first commercially available bioink, READYGEL INX gel-MA based ink, specifically designed for high reproducibility and exceptional performance in volumetric bioprinting applications.

Volumetric 3D printing is a cutting-edge technology capable of printing structures within seconds, revolutionizing the field of bioprinting. The READYGEL INX ink is delivered sterile and ready-to-use, following BIO INX’s “plug and print” principle to streamline the bioprinting process and provide researchers with unprecedented ease of use.

Coralie Gréant, COO at BIO INX, expressed excitement about the potential of the new technology, stating, “Thanks to the speed of this technology and the highly biocompatible resin, the futuristic idea of harvesting cells, printing directly alongside the patient in the operating room prior to reimplantation becomes an attainable reality.”

By leveraging tomographic 3D printing, which solidifies photosensitive inks in three dimensions using shaped light beams from multiple angles, centimeter-scale biological systems with microscale resolution can be produced in seconds. CEO of BIO INX, Jasper Van Hoorick, emphasized the importance of standardization and reproducibility in bioprinting technology, highlighting the significant advancements made through volumetric bioprinting.

Paul Delrot, CEO of Readily3D, emphasized the commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions to customers by partnering with BIO INX to provide high-reproducibility bioinks for clinical applications of bioprinting. The collaboration between these two innovative companies marks a significant step forward in the field of bioprinting and brings the vision of bringing bioprinting technology to clinics within the next decade closer to reality.
