Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit TV show Friends, tragically passed away at the age of 54. Authorities have now opened an investigation into his death after ketamine levels were found in his blood.

The Los Angeles police, along with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service, are working together to determine how Perry obtained the supply of ketamine that ultimately led to his death. The actor was found face down in his hot tub by an assistant on October 28, and despite immediate medical attention, he was declared dead at the scene.

The autopsy report revealed that the amount of ketamine in Perry’s blood was within the range used for general anesthesia during surgery. While the primary cause of death was listed as ketamine overdose, drowning and other medical issues were also contributing factors.

Friends and colleagues of Perry informed investigators that he was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy, a treatment that has gained popularity in recent years for its potential benefits in treating depression, anxiety, and pain. However, the medical examiner noted that the levels of ketamine in Perry’s blood could not be explained by his last treatment 1 1/2 weeks prior to his death.

Perry’s struggles with addiction have been well-documented, dating back to his time on Friends. The investigation into his death is ongoing, with authorities looking into the source of the ketamine supply and whether any foul play was involved. Drug-related celebrity deaths have led to prosecutions in the past, and Perry’s case is no exception as authorities seek to uncover the truth behind his tragic passing.
