The final day of the Iowa Central Golf Invitational brought both triumph and disappointment for the Tritons as they competed at the Fort Dodge Country Club. Head coach Kris Graewin experienced a mix of emotions as his team secured individual titles but fell short of the men’s team championship, which was claimed by Morningside.

Colby Ramsdale and Ivanna Becerra-Diaz emerged victorious in their respective categories, with Becerra-Diaz and Liv Tait leading the ICCC women to a team victory. Despite the success in individual performances, the men’s team was unable to finish both rounds, leaving room for improvement in the upcoming weeks.

Ramsdale showcased his skills with a stellar performance, shooting a 73 and 70 to secure first place ahead of his competitors. Graewin praised Ramsdale’s recent form, noting his consistency and improvement in the game.

While the men’s team fell short of the championship, the Tritons finished three shots behind Morningside and ahead of ICCAC rival Des Moines Area. Becerra-Diaz also shone on the course, overcoming early struggles to finish strong and secure a comfortable lead in the women’s category.

Graewin commended Becerra-Diaz for her resilience and contribution to the team’s success, highlighting her quiet demeanor and fierce competitiveness during play. With solid performances from Tait and the rest of the team, the Tritons demonstrated their potential and determination to excel in the sport.
