IPL 2024: Tim David and Kieron Pollard Face Trouble for Committing Major Offence – Find Out What Happened

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Tim David and batting Kieron Pollard have found themselves in hot water during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The duo has been penalized for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct in MI’s recent match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on April 18.

According to an official statement, David and Pollard were guilty of committing a ‘Level 1 offence under Article 2.20’ and were fined 20 percent of their respective match fees.

“Mumbai Indians batter Tim David and Batting Coach Kieron Pollard have been fined for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct,” the statement read.

The incident occurred during the 15th over of MI’s innings when a delivery from Arshdeep Singh was deemed legal by the umpire, despite appeals from the MI dugout. Head coach Mark Boucher gestured that it was a wide, prompting David and Pollard to urge the batter to take a review.

Both players admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. Under Article 2.15 (b) of the IPL Code of Conduct, players are prohibited from seeking assistance from anyone off the field to decide on requesting a referral to the TV Umpire.
