Iran Issues Warning to Israel at UN Regarding Future Military Actions

Iran issued a stern warning to the United Nations Security Council on Thursday, demanding that Israel cease any further military actions against its interests. The U.N. secretary-general also expressed grave concerns, stating that the Middle East is currently facing a “moment of maximum peril.”

Tensions escalated between the two nations after Iran launched a missile and drone attack on April 13 in response to a suspected Israeli strike on its embassy compound in Damascus. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, emphasized that Iran would not hesitate to retaliate if Israel violated its sovereignty.

In light of the escalating situation, an Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander suggested that Iran may reconsider its “nuclear doctrine” in response to Israeli threats. The U.N. Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, urged both parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation.

However, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador, Gilad Erdan, criticized Iran’s presence at the Security Council, accusing them of hypocrisy. Erdan highlighted the irony of Iran launching attacks on other member states while lecturing the international community on human rights and international law.
